4 day film project with Alex Reuben

 Above is the pitch that my group forcibly
 made me read alone in front of the class..
 was evil of them but i did it!

 A MINUTE OF YOUR TIME

Task - Create a one minute, un-cut video, 'in-camera':
with live sound - no pre-recorded music;
without editing;
or post-production;
in groups of between five and eight people.

I loved this brief and was sooo happy to do a quick fun project after the huge slog that the unknown land brief was. In my group were myself, Eli, Kerensa, Kate and Tom.

We came up with an idea pretty quick so we had time to develop the idea and get t sorted before filming day! Here is our script for our pitch to the class is above.

We wanted to concentrate on things we find annoying and ended up focusing on annoying loud ringtones particularly on public transport. After much planning we came up with this choreographed set up where we set our phones to go off and different times to create this interesting mess of remixed ringtones. We then all hopped on the number 31 bus with the camera and put our choreography to the test. I found it quite hilarious but for some reason people on the bus didn't even turn around let alone complain about the incessant sound of loud ringtones going on behind them. No one even noticed the camera.....

final posters for the invent a country brief - unknown land (sorry about the illuminous blue colour!!)

These are the final posters i put on show for the unknown lland project. Quite horrifically for some reason the damn computer is uploading the images wrong and changing the colour to that disgusting illuminous blue... in there original state i used a bright yellow! oh well i thought i should put them up anywho.....
Well.. this project was the bane of my life for 7 whole gruelling weeks but somehow my group just managed to pull it out the bag in the final presentation. I had to change my style dramatically and a mere week and a half before i realised  that some major research had to be done on religion to be able to produce something that actually works. It might seem ridiculous and completely obvious thing to do but for some reason in my haste to produce something amazing as soon i didn't do much research at all which stemmed a number of design failures.

 I spent a whole weekend purely learning about all different types of religion and decided instead of pointing out the obvious with my text and imagery i should let the public do the thinking themselves. I became intrigued with controversial passages of the bible that often emphasise violence and cruelty. This i felt was important in spreading the message of the department of organised faith that being religion causes conflict. I used quotes from these controversial passages within my images to hopefully shock people. The big ray of yellow colour (or in this case disgusting blue) is meant to look like god shining down his messages to the people! i notices that rays coming from the sky is used regularly in many religious posters and it can immediatly be associated with religion.

My brain is my room....

ha ha i was chatting with some friends the other day and we came to the conclusion that my room (which is one big peice of clutter)is probably exactly what my brain looks like. I found this a largely funny concept but then thinking about it later it became much more of a serious observation....In my excitement i went and took some photo's so i could show the whole world!!! (or perhaps just the minimal amount of people that actually look at my blog)so here it is, my brain .........
